The Museum of Flight and Aerial Firefighting is really just getting started.  The main purpose for starting the Museum is to preserve an important part of aviation history that other museums do not.  The Museum is dedicated to educating people about the several types of aircraft and retardant systems that have evolved over the years into the awesome aerial firefighting capabilities used today.  It is our hope to someday be able to preserve and display a large variety of historical aircraft.   Our goal is to obtain several aircraft in flyable condition and eventually include many types of flight demonstrations as part of the Museum of Flight and Aerial Firefighting.

We have acquired through a lease from Big Horn County Airport the land for the long-term site of the Museum.  Future plans include a large display building and office to house items that cannot be left out of doors.  Currently we are utilizing an authentic pioneer cabin originally from the settlement of Coburn, located near Greybull, along the Big Horn River.  The cabin has been moved to the airport, restored and serves as a visitor's reception and gift shop for the Museum.

Until renovation and construction have been completed, Hawkins & Powers Aviation, is providing, under a contract labor agreement, their front office space for use as a museum visitor reception during off peak periods.

As we're sure you know, it will take donations of all types to develop the Museum.  We have had a very positive response so far but it will take more money and more people's involvement to really get the Museum going to its full potential.  We encourage people with a strong interest in the preservation of aviation history to contact the following personnel regarding the further development of the Museum of Flight and Aerial Firefighting.
