It only takes one virus, spam E-mail, or phishing attachment to ruin your E-mail access (or potentially infect your computer, for that matter!). Making sure your E-mail stays safe and secure is more than just avoiding unknown senders or deleting attachments you never asked for – it requires an actual program designed to filter and block unwanted (and potentially hazardous) E-mail before it even gets to your actual inbox! With Postini, legitimate, known-source E-mails are routed as usual to your regular inbox – but spam, junk-mail, and viruses are routed to the Message Center. Message center is separate from your E-mail desktop/Outlook Desktop and requires an individual log-in (an added layer of security).
Positini also includes features to allow you to block or approve senders – has an automatic Quarantine function (that allows you to review E-mails or attachments before forwarding them to your regular ‘inbox’ — and Virus protection for your E-mail is as simple as switching it ‘On’ or ‘Off’.
