         Gil & Jade Smith,

 

  Have spent a large part of their lives in the Shell area. Their goal is to make your stay at Trapper’s Rest an enjoyable and memorable one.

                           

            Gil is a direct descendent of the first non Native American family to settle in the Shell Valley. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of area history and stories of the valley and it’s inhabitants with others. Gil worked with his family on a dude ranch for many years until he graduated from college. He is a retired Special Education instructor and enjoys gardening, writing, wreath making and crafting folk art Santa’s and character dolls.

            Jade was raised in nearby Greybull, and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, and parts of Europe. She has worked as a professional photographer, a television copywriter and a state coordinator for foreign exchange students. She is currently working for the Greybull Standard, a weekly newspaper and owns her own travel and tour business, Trapper Travel & Tours.

            Gil & Jade have two grown sons, Christopher and Adam, a daughter-in-law, Tessa, and two grandchildren, Tajia and CJ, who are currently living in Eugene, Oregon.
