To place an item of concern on the prayer chain:

1. Determine how God wants the church to pray for your concern.

2. Write out your prayer request as you want it worded.

3. Call John Henderson at 765-2415 or Ruth at 765-2337 to give
your prayer request.  
 
 

Guidelines for those praying on the prayer chain:               top

1. When receiving the prayer request, write down word for word.

2. Confirm what you have written down by reading it back, word for word, to
    the person who has called you.

3. Take a moment to assure your right relationship with God.  (Cleansed of all
    sin; filled with the Holy Spirit; fully trusting God and committed to Him and
    His perfect will.)

4. Ideally, pray right then over the phone with the person from whom you’re
    receiving the request.

5. Call the next person on your list to pass on the request.  If there is no answer,
    skip that person and call the next person.  If you get an answering machine
    and confidentiality concerns permit, leave the request as written and call the
    next person on your list.  Keep going down the list until you get someone to
    pass the request on to.

6. When passing on the prayer request, give it word for word as written down.
    Ask the person to read it back to you and make corrections as needed.

7. Ideally, ask if the person can pray with you right then over the phone.  If
    “yes”, suggest just a moment for both of you to make sure you’re on
    “praying ground” (sins confessed; filled with the Holy Spirit; committed to
    seeking and praying only God’s will in this matter; trusting God fully.)

8. All requests are confidential and should not be shared with anyone other than
    those on the current prayer chain list.  You may call the originator of the
    request to get permission to share the concern with others.

9. The person indicated by an * on each list, call Kathleen to report the request
    having been passed through that list.

10.  To add or remove your name from the prayer chain, call Kathleen Paumer.
       Updates will be made as quickly as possible.
